Members and friends of the Historic Preservation Alliance of Arkansas gathered in Little Rock at the Albert Pike Memorial Temple at on May 5, 2011 to honor the signers of their Articles of Incorporation—preservationist Carl Miller, Director of the Central Arkansas Library System Bobby Roberts, founding president Parker Westbrook, renowned architect Charles Witsell and the late Kirby Smith. As part of a series of 30th Anniversary events, the Founders Lunch celebrated the milestones of the organization, as well as the legacy of these noteworthy preservationists. The program feature the Honorable David Pryor as the Master of Ceremonies, Representative John Edwards, and Mayor of Little Rock and past president of the Alliance, Mayor Mark Stodola.

This very special 30th Anniversary program was an exceptional celebration of the founders of the Historic Preservation Alliance of Arkansas and of the organization. The historic Albert Pike Memorial Temple provided a spectacular setting in which to reflect  on the Alliance's past 30 years of preservation work in Arkansas.

Attendees especially enjoyed the video tribute, filmed and directed by Dave Anderson, which was debuted at the luncheon. Please see the link below to view the film and pass it along to others so that they may know the special importance of our organization and our mission.

Please enjoy photos from the event, as well as the printed program and a special message from National Trust for Historic Preservation President Stephanie Meeks by clicking those links. As you will see, it was a very festive occasion and we are thrilled at the outcome. Thanks to all who generously supported us in this commemoration.
